For the first OW event of the school year, we were delighted to welcome back the Class of 2021 for their five-year reunion. For many, this was their first visit back to the School since leaving in 2021, and it was wonderful to see so many former pupils return. We were also pleased to be joined by Headmaster Simon Hawkes, alongside current and former members of staff.Held on the Headmaster’s Lawn, the event featured drinks and a fantastic BBQ provided by the School’s catering team. There was plenty of time for everyone to catch up with friends and staff and share memories of their time at the School.School photographs, a leavers’ book and copies of The Wellingburian were on display, allowing guests to look back on their younger selves. The OWs also enjoyed a tour of the School, giving them the opportunity to see the new facilities that have opened since they left, including the Sixth Form Centre and the Gateway Building.Later in the evening, JJ McManus (16-21, C) and Vivek Dard (06-21, G) organised a gathering at a local pub, allowing the celebrations to continue into the night. We look forward to welcoming many of those who attended to future OW and School events.
